The Cleveland Guardians have traded All-Star second baseman Andrés Giménez to the Toronto Blue Jays. In return, the Guardians will receive 27-year-old infielder Spencer Horwitz. Giménez, who signed a seven-year, $106.5 million contract in 2023, had a .252 batting average with nine home runs and 63 RBIs last season. The trade also involves the Guardians sending right-handed pitcher Nick Sandlin to the Blue Jays in exchange for Minor League outfielder Nick Mitchell.
