Beck cited a lack of compatibility with the band's work style and rehearsal process, expressing a preference for discipline and focus. Despite not joining the Stones, Beck went on to release his first solo album, Blow By Blow, in 1975. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger later commented on Beck's decision, acknowledging his talent as a guitarist and individualist. Jagger paid tribute to Beck following his death in 2023, calling him one of the greatest guitar players in the world.
