Vick, a standout quarterback at Warwick High School and Virginia Tech, was the number 1 overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft. Despite a controversial past involving a dogfighting scandal, Vick has since advocated against animal cruelty and worked as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to coach at Norfolk State, following the departure of Dawson Odums after a 4-8 season. Vick joins other former NFL players like Deion Sanders and Eddie George in transitioning to college coaching roles.
