A federal judge in California denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing country music star Garth Brooks of sexual assault. The lawsuit was filed by Brooks' hair and makeup artist, alleging assault and battery during a trip to Los Angeles in 2019. Brooks denied the allegations and filed a suit against the accuser in Mississippi for extortion and defamation. The judge ruled that dismissal of the California case was inappropriate until the Mississippi court made a decision on a motion to dismiss. Brooks has 10 days to update the district court on the Mississippi case.
