Abdur Rahim-Jabbar, the half-brother of Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the suspect in the New Year's Day terror attack in New Orleans, attributed the attack to radicalization, despite not noticing any warning signs beforehand. Raised in a Muslim household in Beaumont, Texas, the siblings shared a common upbringing. Jabbar, who had strayed from Islam but returned after his divorce, struggled to find his path in life, even serving in the army for direction. Rahim-Jabbar expressed condolences for the attack and emphasized that it did not reflect his brother or the Muslim community. The attack resulted in numerous casualties, with the FBI releasing surveillance footage of Jabbar before the incident.
