Justin Timberlake joined a Portland group that organizes chaperoned bike rides for kids to get to school in “bike buses” for a special ride down Northeast Klickitat Street to Alameda Elementary School. The group had gone viral with a social media plea for Timberlake to join them while in town for a concert at the Moda Center. Timberlake rode with about 100 people on bikes, playing hits like “Mirrors” from speakers on their bikes. The Bike Bus movement, started by a Portland Public Schools physical education teacher, aims to promote biking for everyday transportation and has gained popularity in the community. Timberlake's participation was seen as setting a positive example for alternative transportation methods.
