Demi Moore's performance in The Substance has earned her a Golden Globe and potential Oscar nominations. The film, in which Moore plays a movie star who takes a drug to generate a younger version of herself, drew inspiration from Beyoncé and Dua Lipa for its costumes. Costume designer Emmanuelle Youchnovski looked to Beyoncé's "Blow" video and Dua Lipa's style for the modern bodysuits worn by the younger character in the film. Moore's accolades include a BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award nomination following her Golden Globe win.
