Imane Khelif, the welterweight boxing gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has accused the International Boxing Association (IBA) of making false and offensive allegations against her regarding a gender eligibility test. The IBA claimed that Khelif failed the test at the 2022 World Championships, despite her being born and raised as a woman with no transgender or intersex identification. The IBA cited an executive order by former US President Donald Trump as the basis for their actions. Khelif has responded to the IBA's accusations on Instagram, stating that she will take legal steps to uphold her rights and ensure fair competition. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has clarified that Khelif and Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting, another gold medalist, are not transgender athletes and have competed in the women's category throughout their careers.
