Apple TV Plus has announced that its adaptation of Murderbot, based on Martha Wells' novels, will premiere on May 16th with two episodes. The show stars Alexander Skarsgård as the titular character, a self-hacking security construct. Murderbot must hide its free will to complete a dangerous assignment while yearning for solitude to watch futuristic soap operas. The series is helmed by Chris and Paul Weitz, with David S. Goyer as an executive producer. The cast includes Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, and others.
