Jon Bon Jovi and wife Dorothea Bongiovi celebrated the 200,000th customer at their JBJ Soul Kitchen community restaurants in Red Bank and Toms River. The unique Pay It Forward model allows those who can't pay to volunteer their time, while others pay for their meal and donate to pay it forward. The flagship location in Red Bank opened in 2011 and has since expanded to include other locations. The 200,000 meals served milestone does not include meals served during special circumstances like superstorm Sandy or COVID quarantine. Jon Bon Jovi is actively involved in the restaurants, even washing dishes during the pandemic.
