Brian James, founding member of THE DAMNED, passed away at the age of 70 with his family by his side. Known for writing the first U.K. punk single "New Rose", Brian was a key songwriter for THE DAMNED's debut album. After leaving the band, he formed TANZ DER YOUTH and later THE LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH with Stiv Bators, releasing successful albums and singles. Brian's career spanned over six decades, collaborating with various musicians and recently reuniting with THE DAMNED for special U.K. shows in 2022.
