Jessica Simpson made an emotional return to the stage after 15 years, thanking the audience for embracing her as she performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The singer debuted four new songs, including "Use My Heart Against Me" and "Leave", possibly inspired by her recent separation from husband Eric Johnson. Simpson also sang covers of "Son of a Preacher Man" and "These Boots are Made for Walking" during her lively set. She expressed gratitude for the support and hinted at more to come in a social media post, as she prepares for the release of her EP, Nashville Canyon: Part 1, on 21 March.
