Pop icon Cyndi Lauper will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, alongside first-time nominees Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, and Bad Company, as well as Outkast, the White Stripes, and Soundgarden. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will be honored with the Musical Excellence Award. The Ahmet Ertegun Award will go to Lenny Waronker. Nominees not selected this year include Mariah Carey, Phish, Billy Idol, and others. The induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles this fall.
