"Mother Arrested for Aiding Teen Son in School Attack Plot: The Case of Ashley Pardo"
[!CDATA[A mother from Texas has been arrested for allegedly aiding her teenage son in planning a violent attack on his former school. The 33-year-old woman, Ashley Pardo, is accused of purchasing ammunition and tactical gear for her 14-year-old son in exchange for him babysitting. The boy, who has a fascination with mass shooters, had plans for "mass targeted violence" at Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio. The grandmother of the boy found a homemade mortar in his bedroom with a reference to a notorious mass shooter written on it. The boy was detained off-campus after arriving at the school dressed in camouflage and tactical gear, causing concern among school officials. Pardo's son is facing terrorism charges for his alleged plans. Authorities claim that Pardo knowingly provided her son with material support and resources for the attack. She allegedly bought him tactical gear, ammunition, and supplies from a local surplus store. The boy had also researched the 2019 Christchurch mosque shooting and had made concerning drawings related to his school. Pardo's son was suspended from school and later attempted suicide, resulting in a hospital visit and stitches. Pardo was released on bail after her arrest, with a court appearance scheduled for July. The case has raised alarm about the potential dangers of individuals supporting violent intentions, especially when it involves minors.]]
