"Ford Recalls Nearly 274,000 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs for Brake Issue"

[!CDATA[Ford has issued a recall for nearly 274,000 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs in the U.S. due to a potential brake issue that could lead to a loss of brake function while driving. The problem stems from the front brake lines coming into contact with the engine air cleaner outlet pipe, which may result in a brake fluid leak and loss of brake function. The recall affects 223,315 Expeditions and 50,474 Navigators from model years 2022 to 2024, with Ford estimating that only 1% of these vehicles have the defect. While there have been no reported accidents or injuries related to this issue, Ford has received 45 warranty reports of front brake line leaks. To address the problem, Ford and Lincoln dealers will inspect the front brake line of the affected vehicles and replace it or the air cleaner outlet pipe if necessary at no cost to the owners. Dealer notifications were scheduled to begin on Wednesday, with owner letters expected to be sent out between May 26 and May 30. Drivers can check if their vehicle is included in the recall and obtain more information through the NHTSA website or Ford's recall lookup tool. The recall identification number for this issue is 25S47. Drivers may notice an increase in pedal travel, requiring more pressure to apply the brakes, if their vehicle is affected. Additionally, a leaking brake line could lead to a decrease in fluid level over time, potentially triggering the red brake warning indicator. Ford has not provided any additional comments regarding this recall.]]
