[!CDATA[The Preakness Stakes, the middle leg of horse racing's Triple Crown, is set to take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on Saturday. Journalism, the Kentucky Derby runner-up, is the favorite to win with odds of 6-5 just before the race begins at 7:01 p.m. EDT. The field of nine horses does not include the Derby winner Sovereignty, who opted to skip the Preakness and aim for the Belmont Stakes instead. Bob Baffert, aiming for his 18th victory in a Triple Crown race, will be competing with Goal Oriented. D. Wayne Lukas, another Hall of Fame trainer, has a chance to tie Baffert's record of eight Preakness wins with American Promise, who finished 16th in the Derby. This year's Preakness marks the final race at the old Pimlico before it undergoes reconstruction. The event is expected to move to Laurel Park next year and return to the new Pimlico in 2027.]]
