The crash resulted in the deaths of all six passengers in the van, as well as the pickup truck driver. The victims have been identified as individuals from China and Italy, including Jian Shi, Xiaoming Jiang, Ivana Wen, Li Nie, Aifeng Wan, and the van's driver Yu Zhang. The Idaho State Police released a statement confirming the identities of the deceased travelers, who were predominantly Chinese nationals with one Italian passenger. The survivors of the crash were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The investigation revealed that the pickup truck driver, Isaih Moreno from Texas, crossed the center line and collided with the van driven by Yu Zhang, leading to the fatal accident.
