North Carolina Man Faces Charges for Intentional Head-On Crash Targeting Spouse

A man from central North Carolina is facing multiple charges after intentionally causing a head-on crash in an attempt to kill his spouse. The incident occurred on May 31, resulting in injuries to at least three people, including his wife. The man, identified as 33-year-old Andersen Singleton, is facing six charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, and injury to personal property. He is also accused of assaulting, stalking, or threatening his spouse and is currently held without bond.
Singleton waived his right to court-appointed counsel and has not yet hired an attorney to represent him. The crash, which occurred just before 6 a.m. on May 31, involved Singleton driving a Toyota Camry with the victim in the vehicle. He allegedly crashed into oncoming traffic with the intent to kill his spouse, causing damage exceeding $200. Witness Jorge Bravo captured the crash on his dashboard camera and reported that Singleton confessed to trying to kill himself and his wife due to constant fighting.
The extent of the injuries sustained in the crash was not immediately clear, and Singleton remains in custody with orders to stay away from his spouse's home, school, or job. The case is ongoing, and Singleton is expected to face legal consequences for his actions.
