George Jones Honored with Life-Sized Statue Unveiling at Ryman Auditorium

The Ryman Auditorium recently honored George Jones by unveiling a life-sized statue of the iconic singer outside the venue. The statue now stands alongside those of other country music legends like Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, and Little Jimmy Dickens. Nancy Jones, George's widow, accepted the honor on his behalf and shared her pride in the commemoration. She revealed that the Ryman held a special place in George's heart as it was a place where he felt safe and didn't drink, considering it the "Mother Church of Country Music."
Nancy played a significant role in the design of the statue, collaborating with artist Ben Watts to capture George's likeness accurately. The event, attended by around a hundred people, including fans, friends, and family, celebrated George Jones' life and career.
