Catholic Advocacy Group Calls for Apology and Removal of Blasphemous Scene from Apple TV+ Show

A Catholic advocacy group has sent a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Apple TV+ demanding an apology and removal of a scene from the show "Your Friends and Neighbors" that depicts Eucharistic desecration in a Catholic church. The scene shows characters breaking into the church, stealing Eucharistic hosts, and engaging in sacrilegious behavior. The group, CatholicVote, considers the scene blasphemous and sacrilegious, and has launched a petition with over 169,000 signatures calling for Apple to take action. The group's vice president, Josh Mercer, emphasized the importance of the Eucharist in the Catholic faith and questioned whether similar content mocking other religions would be tolerated. CatholicVote is urging Catholics to join them in demanding that Apple remove the episode and issue an apology. Apple has not yet responded to the group's letter or the petition.
