With approximately one in every six current NBA players coming from Europe, including stars like Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Victor Wembanyama, there is a strong foundation for a successful league in the region. The NBA's board of governors will further discuss the next steps for the European plans during their meeting in July, potentially leading to an announcement or launch around the time of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which will showcase international basketball on a global stage.
