She also requested details on the Trump administration's analysis of its authorities under the Defense Production Act to address national security needs. Warren expects a response by June 14, either through a classified briefing or a public statement.
The senator has been critical of Musk's ties to the Trump administration, highlighting the billions of dollars in federal grants SpaceX has received. NASA has been a major contributor, funding SpaceX's missions to the International Space Station and the development of a lunar lander for the Artemis program. Despite the recent public spat between Trump and Musk, the former has no intention of reconciling with the billionaire.
Trump hinted at the possibility of reconsidering subsidies to Musk, citing the need for fairness to both Musk and the country. This is not the first time Trump has criticized Musk over federal subsidies, but their relationship has seen ups and downs.
