Remembering Jonathan Mayers: Co-Founder of Superfly Entertainment and Bonnaroo Music Festival

Jonathan Mayers, a co-founder of Superfly Entertainment, has passed away, as reported by Billboard. The cause of his death has not been disclosed. Mayers, along with his partners Rick Farman, Richard Goodstone, and Kerry Black, established Superfly in 1996. They collaborated with Ashley Capps, Chip Hooper, and Coran Capshaw to launch the Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2002. Following the success of Bonnaroo, Superfly and AC Entertainment organized the Vegoose Music Festival in Las Vegas and partnered with Another Planet Entertainment to create the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco. Mayers was also involved in other events like Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Project Pabst, and The Great GoogaMooga during his time at Superfly. In August 2021, Mayers was terminated from Superfly, leading to a legal dispute with his former partners, which was ultimately dismissed by a judge in January 2023.
