2025 Americana Honors & Awards: Celebrating Excellence in Roots Music
The 2025 Americana Honors & Awards nominees have been revealed by the Americana Music Association. The prestigious event, part of the annual Americana Music Festival in Nashville, will celebrate exceptional albums, songs, and artists in the roots music genre. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Ryman Auditorium, as part of the 25th anniversary of the AmericanaFest, which runs from Sept. 9 to 13.
The nominees for Album of the Year include Charley Crockett's "Lonesome Drifter," Jason Isbell's "Foxes in the Snow," MJ Lenderman's "Manning Fireworks," Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats' "South of Here," and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings' "Woodland."
In the Artist of the Year category, Charley Crockett, Sierra Ferrell, Joy Oladokun, Billy Strings, and Waxahatchee are all nominated for their outstanding contributions to Americana music.
The Duo/Group of the Year nominees feature Julien Baker & TORRES, Dawes, Larkin Poe, The Mavericks, and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, showcasing the diversity and talent within the Americana music scene.
The Emerging Act of the Year category highlights the rising stars in the genre, including Noeline Hofmann, MJ Lenderman, Medium Build, Maggie Rose, and Jesse Welles, who are making a mark with their fresh and innovative music.
Instrumentalist of the Year nominees include Fred Eltringham, Alex Hargreaves, Megan Jane, Kaitlyn Raitz, and Seth Taylor, who have demonstrated exceptional skill and artistry in their respective instruments.
The Song of the Year category features standout tracks like "Johnny Moonshine" by Maggie Antone, "Ancient Light" by I'm With Her, "Wristwatch" by MJ Lenderman, "Sunshine Getaway" by JD McPherson, and "Heartless" by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, showcasing the lyrical and musical excellence in Americana music.
