Florida Man Poses as Flight Attendant, Scores Over 120 Free Flights: The Tiron Alexander Case

A Florida man named Tiron Alexander has been found guilty of pretending to be a flight attendant and securing over 120 free flights. The United States Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida released a statement detailing Alexander’s alleged actions. From 2018 to 2024, he managed to book free flights on an airline’s website that were intended only for pilots and flight attendants. By posing as a flight attendant from various airlines, he flew on 34 flights. He even claimed to work for seven different airlines and had 30 badge numbers and hire dates.
During Alexander’s trial, evidence revealed that he also posed as a flight attendant on three other airline websites, resulting in more than 120 free flights. A jury convicted him of wire fraud and entering secure airport areas under false pretenses. Alexander is set to be sentenced on April 25 and could face up to 20 years for wire fraud, 10 years for entering secure airport areas falsely, and a $250,000 fine. Despite claims in his indictment, Alexander never held a pilot or flight attendant position at a Dallas-based airline where he was employed since 2015.
In a separate incident in Florida, Travis Ray Thompson made headlines for being sentenced to life in prison for murder. Thompson was accused of severing the spine of his ex-girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter.
