Advocate Originals: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Voices on Hulu

Advocate Originals, a collection of LGBTQ content produced by the Advocate magazine, is set to premiere on Hulu on June 21 in honor of Pride Month. The CEO of the Advocate's parent company, equalpride, expressed excitement about the launch, emphasizing the importance of inclusive media and the value it brings to audiences, advertisers, and partners. This initiative aims to create impactful content that resonates with a diverse audience.
The flagship program of Advocate Originals is the "Pride of Broadway Special," a 20-minute show that showcases LGBTQ+ stars and allies in the vibrant theater scene of New York City. Hosted by Sam Champion, the special includes interviews, behind-the-scenes footage from Pride Issue cover shoots of Out and The Advocate, and red carpet moments from the annual Pride of Broadway Cover Party. The special features renowned Broadway icons like Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Salonga, and Adam Lambert, among others.
In addition to the "Pride of Broadway Special," Advocate Originals will feature "Big Easy Queens," a comedy drag thriller set in New Orleans, starring Suzie Toot from "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 17 and cabaret drag artist Miss Bouvèé. The lineup also includes "The Out100 30th Anniversary Special," which celebrates influential LGBTQ+ figures and three decades of the Out100 list, as well as "Candis Cayne's Secret Garden," a documentary highlighting the iconic trans voice of TV personality Candis Cayne.
Advocate Originals on Hulu offers a diverse range of LGBTQ programming that celebrates the community's talent, resilience, and impact. With a mix of entertainment, storytelling, and representation, these shows aim to engage and inspire audiences while highlighting the rich diversity of LGBTQ voices and experiences.
