Juwan Morgan Joins Assembly Ball: A Look at the Indiana Alumni Team's Roster for The Basketball Tournament
Assembly Ball, an Indiana alumni team participating in The Basketball Tournament's regional event at Hinkle Fieldhouse from July 19-22, has announced the addition of former Hoosier player Juwan Morgan to their roster. Morgan will join other notable players like Yogi Ferrell, Jordan Hulls, Race Thompson, Al Durham, James Blackmon Jr., and Troy Williams on the team. Morgan, who previously played for Assembly Ball in last year's tournament, had a significant impact, including a double-double performance in their victory over The Cru.
During his time at Indiana University from 2015 to 2019, Morgan appeared in 128 games and left a mark in the program's history by ranking in the top ten for rebounds and blocks. As a two-time All-Big Ten selection and team captain in his senior year, he averaged 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Morgan's achievements include being named Big Ten Player of the Week three times, setting records in the Crossroads Classic, and recording a rare triple-double in IU history. Following his college career, Morgan played in the NBA for three seasons, primarily with the Utah Jazz, before moving to play overseas in Montenegro with Buducnost Voli in 2023.
The winner of the Indianapolis Regional in The Basketball Tournament will progress to the quarterfinals on July 27, with the semifinals scheduled for July 31 and the championship game on August 3, where teams compete for a $1 million prize.
