Support Moses Lake's Rising Soccer Stars: Help Fund Their Training with FC Barcelona
Five talented young soccer players from Moses Lake’s Basin Sounders Football Club have been chosen for a unique opportunity to train with FC Barcelona in Spain. Santino Alejo, Braylin Zook, Jayce Reyes, Ezekiel Legg-Rocha, and Carson Lombardini were scouted and invited by the Seattle-based FC Barcelona Academy after impressing at a recent U.S./Spain soccer showcase. This invitation allows them to train at one of the world’s most prestigious football clubs, where legends like Lionel Messi and Andrés Iniesta once trained.
Coach Roland Alejo, who mentors three of the selected players, commended the players for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing that this opportunity goes beyond soccer and can be life-changing. The players are set to travel to Spain in May 2026, but the costs associated with the trip are significant. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise $15,000 to cover expenses such as airfare, accommodation, training fees, transportation, meals, and insurance.
Coach Alejo highlighted the importance of the trip for the players’ cultural exposure, personal growth, and the realization that dreams can come true through perseverance. The players have shown commitment on the field while managing their academic and family responsibilities, and now the community has the chance to support them. Every donation, regardless of size, will bring the players closer to their goal of training with FC Barcelona and represents the community’s belief in their talent and future.
