Eric Johnson: From Session Player to Guitar Virtuoso

Eric Johnson began his music career as a session player in the 1970s and early 1980s, working with artists like Cat Stevens, Carole King, and Steve Morse. He eventually released his debut solo album, Tones, in 1986. Before going solo, Johnson was part of a group called Mariani, which opened for Deep Purple and led to a friendship with Christopher Cross. Cross later invited Johnson to play on the track Minstrel Gigolo for his debut album. Johnson's solo career took off after his session work and the disbandment of the Electromagnets. In a recent interview, Johnson discussed his music journey and the endless possibilities of guitar playing.
