Hayley Williams' Musical Evolution: A Collection of 17 Singles Produced by Daniel James

Hayley Williams surprises fans with a new collection of 17 singles produced by Daniel James. The Paramore frontwoman showcases her musical talents by writing, playing, and recording various instruments on the tracks. Collaborators Brian Robert Jones, Joey Howard, and Jim-E Stack also contribute to the collection. The release is under Williams' new imprint, Post Atlantic, distributed by Secretly Distribution, marking her first independent release post-Paramore's departure from Atlantic Records.
The diverse collection highlights Williams' versatility, ranging from gritty alt-rock in "Mirtazapine" to the eerie vocal manipulation in "Glum" and the Nashville-inspired "Whim." The release also features the sardonic "Ice in My OJ," a reimagined chorus from her side project Mammoth City Messengers. Fans got an early listen to the tracks through a hidden link on Williams' website, leading to a download page with a playful note encouraging sharing among friends.
Other tracks in the collection include "Hard," "Negative Self Talk," "Discovery Channel," and "Love Me Different," which references popular TikTok tarot reader Alex Reads Tarot. This release marks Williams' third solo project, showcasing a more expansive and experimental sound compared to her previous works. The new material reflects a sense of freedom from label constraints and genre expectations.
The surprise drop follows Paramore's celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut album and the release of a digital deluxe edition. The band has been touring internationally as part of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, while Paramore bandmate Zac Farro released his solo album, Operator, under his label Congrats Records. Williams' latest collection adds another dimension to her evolving musical journey, showcasing her growth as an artist and her ability to push creative boundaries.
