Netflix Cancels Arnold Schwarzenegger's Spy Series 'Fubar' After Two Seasons

Netflix has decided not to move forward with a third season of Arnold Schwarzenegger's spy action series Fubar. The show's performance was below expectations, despite Schwarzenegger's star power and the addition of Monica Barbaro, who received an Oscar nomination between Seasons 1 and 2. Fubar returned more than two years after Season 1 but failed to make a significant impact, with Season 2 struggling to maintain viewership.
The decision to cancel Fubar marks a rare occurrence for Netflix this year, as the streaming platform has renewed nearly 20 scripted shows during the same period. Fubar joins other canceled series like The Recruit, Pulse, and The Residence. The streamer recently announced renewals for shows like Untamed, Tires, Ransom Canyon, and Virgin River.
Fubar follows a CIA operative (Schwarzenegger) who uncovers a family secret and is compelled to return to the field for one final mission. Season 2 introduced Carrie-Anne Moss as Greta Nelso, a former East German spy with a complicated history with Schwarzenegger's character. The ensemble cast also includes Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, and others.
Nick Santora serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Schwarzenegger. The series is produced by a team of executive producers, including Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, and others from Skydance. Despite the cancellation of Fubar, Netflix continues to invest in a diverse range of scripted content for its audience.
