Unlocking the Legacy: McFarlane Toys' Lock-Up Figure from Batman: The Animated Series

Batman: The Animated Series revolutionized the DC Comics universe over three decades ago, introducing a new generation to the iconic Batman and his array of villains. Among the original villains created for the show, Harley Quinn and Roxy Rocket gained significant popularity. Now, McFarlane Toys is releasing a new figure of one of the series' underrated original villains, Lock-Up.

Lock-Up, also known as Lyle Bolton, made his debut in the 17th episode of BTAS Season 2 as a formidable antagonist. The character, an aggressive guard at Arkham Asylum, caught the attention of Bruce Wayne and eventually transformed into the vigilante Lock-Up. The new six-inch scale Lock-Up figure, part of McFarlane's DC Direct line, is a Walmart exclusive Black Light Edition Gold Label deluxe figure. It comes with a baton, an art card with a stand, and a base featuring two battery-powered black lights, priced at $29.99 USD.

The episode featuring Lock-Up showcased the character's descent into extremism and his clash with Batman, with Robin's assistance. Written by Paul Dini, the episode highlighted the importance of Batman's support system in preventing him from crossing the line. Lock-Up's appearance also featured other iconic Batman villains like Harley Quinn, The Ventriloquist, Scarface, and Scarecrow.

Fans of Batman: The Animated Series can enjoy the show on HBO Max, along with related films like Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker. Lock-Up's McFarlane DC Direct figure can be pre-ordered on the McFarlane Toys website and will be available in Walmart stores. Don't miss the chance to add this unique figure to your collection and relive the classic BTAS moments.
