Elvis Presley's Sunset Boulevard is a comprehensive 5-CD collection that showcases his recording sessions and rehearsals from 1970 to 1975 at RCA's iconic Los Angeles studios. Released on August 1, 2025, by RCA Records and Legacy Recordings, this collection features 89 rare tracks, with over half of them never before released in the United States. The set includes beloved Presley classics like "Always On My Mind" and "Burning Love," as well as covers of songs such as "Green, Green Grass of Home" and "Proud Mary."
The first two discs of Sunset Boulevard offer new mixes by four-time GRAMMY winner Matt Ross-Spang, providing fresh insights into Elvis' recordings. These mixes strip away overdubs and highlight his captivating voice on tracks like "For The Good Times" and "I Can Help." The collection also includes rare alternate versions of songs like "Separate Ways" and "T-R-O-U-B-L-E," showcasing Elvis' vocal prowess and emotional depth.
In addition to the studio recordings, Sunset Boulevard features behind-the-scenes glimpses of Elvis' Las Vegas residency rehearsals with his TCB Band. The recordings from July 1970 and August 1974 capture the chemistry between Elvis and his band, showcasing his iconic performances and unique interpretations of songs like "Twelfth of Never" and "Softly As I Leave You."
To celebrate the release of Sunset Boulevard, Sony Music will host a listening event at Graceland's Guest House Theater during Elvis Week 2025 in Memphis. Fans can enjoy the collection's highlights and participate in a Q&A session with special guests. This collection offers a rare opportunity to experience Elvis Presley's music in a new light and celebrate his enduring legacy.
