Reckless Racing on the Selmon Expressway: Two Drivers Arrested for Speeding Over 100 MPH

Two drivers were apprehended by Tampa police for speeding over 100 MPH on the Selmon Expressway. The incident occurred when a TPD officer observed a 2021 Honda Accord and a 2019 Dodge Challenger racing past at high speeds. The drivers showed no concern for other vehicles on the road as they weaved through traffic. It was reported that the suspects were recording the race to share on social media. Chief Lee Bercaw stressed the importance of road safety and warned that reckless drivers will face consequences, including vehicle impoundment. The two suspects, Angel Hurrea, 19, and Devin Harrison, 21, were arrested and charged with unlawful racing on a highway and dangerous excessive speeding.
