Ballers L.A.: A Premier Racquet Sports Club Coming to Downtown Los Angeles

A new social club focused on racquet sports, including pickleball and padel, is set to open in downtown Los Angeles next summer. Named Ballers, the club will be located in the former Macy's building at The Bloc, offering 18 pickleball courts and four padel courts, along with other amenities such as golf simulators, soccer pitches, bars, a restaurant, and a recovery zone. Membership packages will start at $99 per month, providing various benefits like advanced booking, access to the recovery lounge, and exclusive event invitations. Nonmembers can also enjoy the facilities for a fee.
Ballers L.A. will be the third location of the club, following openings in Philadelphia and Boston. The founders aim to expand to 50 locations nationwide in the next seven to 10 years, with support from professional athletes like Andre Agassi, Kim Clijsters, and Tyrese Maxey. The club's design focuses on accessibility in terms of location and pricing to encourage people to try out the racquet sports, especially pickleball, which has gained popularity in recent years.
The transformation of the former Macy's space into an experiential social club reflects a trend of retail locations evolving to offer communal experiences. Ballers aims to introduce more people to pickleball and padel, making the sports inclusive and accessible to all skill levels. The club's opening in downtown L.A. is anticipated for late summer 2026, providing a new recreational option for residents and visitors alike.
