Conan O'Brien's early career included a stint as a writer on Saturday Night Live, where he had the opportunity to mingle with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. During a recent podcast appearance, O'Brien reminisced about attending the SNL 15th anniversary party, where he encountered music icon Prince, who had just released the Batman soundtrack. O'Brien was in awe of Prince's flawless appearance at the event.

Another memorable SNL party for O'Brien was in the late '80s, where he crossed paths with rock star Jon Bon Jovi, who was at the height of his fame. O'Brien vividly remembered Bon Jovi's stylish leather outfit and cool demeanor at the party.

O'Brien's tenure at SNL spanned from 1985 to 1991 before he moved on to write for The Simpsons from 1991 to 1993. In 1993, he took over as the host of NBC's Late Night after David Letterman's departure. It was fitting that Letterman presented O'Brien with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize in 2025.
