Monterey Classic Car Week: Historic Races, Hillclimb, and More!

Classic Car Week in Monterey kicks off with a display of historic race cars on Alvarado Street on Friday night. The event will feature live music, giveaways, and the opportunity to meet the drivers of the iconic vehicles. Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy a variety of classic and modern cars on display across the Monterey Peninsula.
The weekend will see the Monterey Pre-Reunion and Corkscrew Hillclimb at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Owners of historic race cars will participate in the fourth annual Corkscrew Hillclimb competition, where drivers will race up the iconic turn to beat the current record. Tickets for the event range from $72 to $118 and include admission, paddock access, grandstand seating, and parking.
Fans can watch the drivers practice and qualify for the Corkscrew Hillclimb on Saturday, followed by the main event and awards ceremony. Sunday will feature races starting in the morning and concluding in the evening. The following week, the drivers will compete at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at the raceway.
New this year is the International Race of Champions, featuring NASCAR legends racing in their original IROC cars. Other highlights of Classic Car Week include the expanded Exotics on Broadway event and the first Woodies in the Woods display at Asilomar Conference Grounds.
With the influx of visitors during Classic Car Week, the Monterey Police Department has increased patrol staffing to address speed-related violations and other issues. Last year, the department made numerous traffic stops and citations during the event. Drivers are reminded to adhere to traffic laws to avoid fines and vehicle impoundment.
