Princess Anne's Courtesy Call to Irish President's Residence and Dublin Horse Show

The Princess Royal is set to visit the official residence of the Irish president, Michael D Higgins, in Dublin. This visit is described as a courtesy call, and she will meet President Higgins and his wife, Sabina. Princess Anne will also attend the opening day of the 150th Dublin Horse Show at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS).
During her visit, Princess Anne will tour an exhibition on the history of the show and meet representatives from Festina Lente and the Riding for the Disabled Association Ireland. She will present rosettes to the winners of the Small Hunters competition. The British Ambassador to Ireland, Paul Johnston, highlighted the significance of the visit in strengthening the friendship between the UK and Ireland.
Princess Anne's visit to Aras an Uachtarain is not her first, as she previously visited in 2004. The royal family has a history of visiting the president's residence, including Queen Elizabeth II's historic trip in 2011. The Duke of Edinburgh also made solo visits to Aras an Uachtarain in the past. The visit by the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2020 included a tea party with President Higgins and his wife.
