RCMP Intercepts High-Speed Racers on Hwy. 104: Road Safety Alert

RCMP Northeast Traffic Services intercepted two vehicles engaged in a high-speed race on Hwy. 104 in Antigonish. The incident occurred on July 30, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., when officers, in collaboration with Antigonish County District RCMP, pulled over a Toyota Corolla and a Kia Forte traveling at 181 km/h on the highway. The drivers, a 46-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman from Heatherton, were fined $2422.20 each, had their licenses confiscated for seven days, and their vehicles impounded for the same duration. The enforcement action was a result of speed enforcement patrols conducted by the officers between Beaver Mountain and Antigonish.
