Beatles Night at Citi Field: Celebrating 60 Years Since The Beatles' Iconic Shea Stadium Performance
The New York Mets are set to commemorate the 60th anniversary of The Beatles' iconic performance at Shea Stadium with a special event at Citi Field. The Fab Four's 1965 concert marked a significant moment as the first major stadium performance by a rock band. A documentary titled “The Beatles at Shea Stadium” captured the historic show, which took place at the stadium shared by the Mets and New York Jets at the time.
To kick off the celebration, a performance by 1964 The Tribute will take place in front of Shea Bridge at 6:15 p.m. ET. The first 15,000 fans entering Citi Field will receive an exclusive replica of Shea Stadium. Festivities will continue throughout the evening, with members of the gameday staff who worked the original concert throwing the first pitch. Following the game, fans can enjoy a special themed fireworks display to cap off the night.
