Ryan Bowen, a former Iowa basketball player, has been appointed as the new head coach of the NBA G League's Grand Rapids Gold, which is the affiliate of the Denver Nuggets. Bowen, who has been an assistant coach for the Nuggets for the past 10 seasons, will now lead the G League team. With a 507-game NBA playing career spanning from 1999 to 2019, Bowen brings a wealth of experience to his new coaching role. A Fort Madison native, Bowen played for Iowa from 1994 to 1998 and holds career records for steals and is ranked in the top 10 for rebounds and blocked shots at Iowa.
