Disney Jr. Unveils Exciting New Series: Cars: Lightning Racers and Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends

Disney Jr. has exciting news for its upcoming lineup, with the announcement of two new series: Cars: Lightning Racers and Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends. The network also renewed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ for two more seasons. The new series will feature beloved characters from the Cars films, with the original cast returning to voice their roles. Cars: Lightning Racers will follow Lightning McQueen, Mater, and new friends on thrilling adventures in Radiator Springs. Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends introduces kid versions of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they face off against classic Super Baddies. Both series are set to premiere in 2027 on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
Cars: Lightning Racers will bring back the original cast members, including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy as Mater. The series will introduce new characters like Pipes and Miles, voiced by Leah Lewis and Yuri Lowenthal, respectively. Sheryl Lee Ralph will also voice a new character, Ms. Blinker. The show is produced by Disney Television Animation in association with Pixar, with Travis Braun and Frank Montagna as executive producers.
Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends will feature kid versions of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Thor as they strive to be their best selves while battling Super Baddies. The series is produced by Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios in association with Atomic Cartoons, with Sean Coyle, Bart Jennett, and Harrison Wilcox as executive producers.
In addition to the new series, Disney Jr. announced premiere dates for other shows like Disney Junior Ariel: The Little Mermaid special, Firebuds Season 3, and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Season 3. The network also revealed new castings for upcoming series Sofia The First: Royal Magic and Hey A.J.!, featuring familiar voices like Ariel Winter and Wayne Brady.
