Jaws Goes to the Bahamas: A Documentary Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of 'Jaws: The Revenge

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie "Jaws" directed by Steven Spielberg. On the other hand, in 2027, it will be the 40th anniversary of the last film in the "Jaws" franchise, "Jaws: The Revenge." Despite its reputation as a famously bad sequel, "Jaws: The Revenge" has its own set of fans. Mike Gencarelli, the owner of Voight-Kampff Productions, is one such fan and has announced plans to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the film with a documentary titled "Jaws Goes to the Bahamas." A teaser trailer for the documentary has been released online.
"Jaws: The Revenge," directed by Joseph Sargent and written by Michael de Guzman, follows the story of Ellen Brody, whose family has been plagued by shark attacks. After her son falls victim to a massive Great White shark, Ellen visits her other son, Michael, in the Bahamas, where she meets Hoagie Newcombe. As Ellen and Hoagie develop a relationship, a new shark threat emerges, reigniting Ellen's troubles with Great Whites. The film features a cast including Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest, Mario Van Peebles, Michael Caine, and others.
The documentary "Jaws Goes to the Bahamas" is currently in the early stages of production, with plans to interview surviving cast and crew members. An IndieGogo fundraising campaign has been launched to support the completion of the documentary, offering various perks to contributors. Anthony C. Ferrante, known for directing the Sharknado movies, has joined as an executive producer, and an interview with Lance Guest has already been filmed for the documentary.
