Fatal Drag Race Trial: Knoxville Woman Faces Charges in Magnolia Avenue Crash

The trial of a Knoxville woman involved in a fatal drag race on Magnolia Avenue in 2023 began on Monday. Witness testimonies, including that of Frank Rinne, who heard the cars revving and the crash, were presented during the trial. 911 calls indicated that the cars were racing, with one caller mentioning the cars revving at a red light. KPD officer Sam Young, the primary crash investigator, testified that the cars were a significant distance away when Williams attempted to turn.
