Manchester Arena Bomb Plotter Charged with Attempted Murder: Latest Updates
Hashem Abedi, the Manchester Arena bomb plotter, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following an attack on four prison officers at HMP Frankland in Co Durham. The incident, which occurred on 12 April, is under investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East and Durham Constabulary. In addition to the attempted murder charges, Abedi faces one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of unauthorised possession of a knife or offensive weapon. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 18 September and is currently in custody.
