Martin Lawrence: The Return of Comedy King on the Las Vegas Strip
Martin Lawrence is set to bring his “Y’all Still Know What It Is” stand-up tour to the Las Vegas Strip for a single night at Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas on Nov. 15. This marks Lawrence’s first headlining tour in eight years, and tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. PT.
In a recent interview, Lawrence shared insights into his comedy approach, likening it to the training regimen of a fighter. He emphasized the importance of discipline and continuous improvement, drawing parallels between his past as a Golden Gloves boxing contender and his current comedy writing process. Lawrence frequently visits clubs to test new material and maintains a back-to-basics mindset, always striving to start fresh and refine his craft.
Despite the rapid development of his latest tour, Lawrence has managed to keep audiences engaged by blending his signature sex-forward humor with commentary on contemporary issues and family dynamics. Family plays a significant role in Lawrence's life, with his brother Robert often contributing to his material. While a Martin reboot is unlikely following the passing of Thomas Mikal Ford in 2016, Lawrence remains focused on future projects, including a potential Blue Streak sequel and a forthcoming book, all while continuing to tour.
Looking ahead, Lawrence expressed his enduring passion for stand-up comedy, highlighting the thrill of performing at a high level. His dedication to the craft and commitment to delivering top-notch entertainment ensure that fans can expect an unforgettable experience at his upcoming Las Vegas show.
