Speedway Saturdays: Mario Kart Tournaments for Kids and Teens Grades K-12

Join us for Speedway Saturdays, a thrilling monthly Mario Kart tournament designed for children and teens in grades K-12, including registered homeschooled students. Each month, participants must sign up separately for their respective age group at least 24 hours before the event. The tournaments will be held twice a month at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with one Saturday dedicated to the Kids Tournament for participants under age 13 and another for the Teens Tournament for those aged 13 to 18. The cost is $20 per child per tournament day.
The first competition, the Kids Tournament, kicks off on Saturday, August 16. Vice Mayor Kathleen Taylor expressed her enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the city's commitment to providing engaging opportunities for young people. The Kids Tournament dates are August 16, September 13, October 11, November 8, and December 6, while the Teens Tournament will take place on August 30, September 27, October 25, November 22, and December 20.
Participants must be accompanied by someone age 12 or older at all times, as drop-offs are not permitted. A lunch break will be observed from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., during which the tournament room will be closed. Tournament play will feature age-based brackets, with winners progressing through elimination rounds. The top four players will compete in a final battle to determine the overall champion, who will receive a prize.
