Local Hockey Coach Kaley Nicoll Kehler Receives National Recognition from Hockey Canada and BFL Canada
A local hockey coach in MacGregor, Manitoba, Kaley Nicoll Kehler, has been honored with a national award from Hockey Canada and BFL Canada for her dedication to youth sports. Kehler was surprised to receive the award during a phone call set up under the guise of a survey about rural programs. Her passion for hockey began in her youth, and she has transitioned that into coaching various age groups and levels, including U7 programs and high-level female teams. Kehler attributes her coaching journey to the positive experiences she had as a player and aims to continue building connections and fostering a love for the game among athletes and coaches. She hopes her recognition will inspire others to get involved in coaching, particularly in smaller communities where volunteers play a crucial role in developing young athletes.
