Coven Academy: Disney's Magical New Series by Tim Federle

Disney Branded Television has greenlit a new series called Coven Academy, created by Tim Federle, known for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The show, set to air on Disney+ and Disney Channel next year, is a supernatural dramedy set in New Orleans, blending magic, mystery, and teen drama. The story follows three teenage witches-in-training who must protect their city from ancient threats while dealing with personal challenges and relationships.

The main cast includes Malina Pauli Weissman as Briar, Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves, Malachi Barton as Jake, Louis Thresher as Ollie, Jordan Leftwich as Sasha, and Ora Duplass as Tegan. Guest stars include Brendon Tremblay, Swayam Bhatia, and Keegan Connor Tracy. Tim Federle, the creator and executive producer, described Coven Academy as a tribute to the YA genre shows he enjoyed growing up, and he is excited to bring this original story to life with Disney.

Federle, who also directed the pilot, is working on other projects under his deal with Disney Branded Television, including the live-action comedy series Vampirina: Teenage Vampire and the sequel to Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
