Fitchburg State University is set to host the Boston Bruins 2025 Fan Fest Tour, one of only three locations in the state and New Hampshire. The event will take place at the Wallace Civic Center on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This tour aims to promote hockey in New England and will bring together fans of all ages for a day of fun activities and interactive exhibits.
The Wallace Civic Center holds a special place in Bruins history, as it was the venue for the team's training camps in the 1970s. Fans had the opportunity to watch hockey legends like Bobby Orr, Terry O’Reilly, Phil Esposito, and Johnny Bucyk showcase their skills on the ice. The event at Fitchburg State will be a celebration of this rich hockey legacy and a chance for fans to come together in a place steeped in history.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey team, under the guidance of coach Dean Fuller, recently clinched the MASCAC title at the Wallace Civic Center. This victory earned them a spot in the NCAA Division 3 tournament in Utica, N.Y. The team's success adds to the rink's storied history and highlights the strong connection between the university and the sport of hockey.
The Fan Fest Tour will offer a range of activities for attendees, including hockey games, interactive exhibits, and a chance to shop for Bruins merchandise. The Boston Bruins Foundation will also be present with BFit Combine stations for kids to participate in fitness activities. Fans can expect appearances from members of the Bruins organization at each stop of the tour, adding to the excitement of the event.
Kids who have signed up for the Bruins Academy Learn to Play program will have the opportunity to be fitted for new hockey gear at the Wallace Civic Center.
